Dave began his music career by imitating his older brother of 9 years when he was barely 5.
Through the years while watching and listening to his older siblings (Brian, Sue, Toni & Trish) learn their craft, he took it all in and began to draft his own blend of special talents. Not satisfied with anything particular, Dave set out to master it all. After about a week, he settled on becoming a drummer.

He has a knack for being loud. Dave became an established drummer and vocalist writing and performing in various bands throughout the years. Eventually he broke out of the drummer mold and learned to play guitar, piano, harmonica, and various percussion instruments as he blended technology and music to feed his musical addiction. He enjoys music across all genres and especially has a love for watching and listening to live music.
When Dave set out with his brother Brian to create their own music performing project
‘SuburbanFolk’, which includes his siblings, he knew exactly what he wanted to do in the band. Dave wanted to fill all of the little intricate holes you normally don’t hear in live performances.
In addition to adding to the many layers of 3,4 and 5 part harmonies performed by
SuburbanFolk, Dave grooves along with Vern on the drum kit by playing congas,
djembe, bongos, various shakers, tambourine,
cubasa, rain stick and cowbell. Gotta have that cowbell baby! He loves the challenge of coordinating and syncopating a ‘big sound’ by having lots of things going on at the same time yet blending it all to a pleasant ensemble. Dave works well with Vern and he is fun to watch. You can always catch him in the background happily banging away on the congas, singing and having a good time while sporting his wide array of specialized ‘gig-hats’. He claims it helps him sing better but I think he just likes hats.
